Original Creosote drums 20L
Bartoline Coal Tar Creosote is a highly effective wood preservative made from a complex mixture of hydrocarbon oils containing a controlled amount of tar acids. It prevents timber from drying out and splitting, inhibits the growth of fungi, and at the same time destroys insects which might otherwise damage the wood.
Coal Tar Creosote has been used for generations and continues to represent excellent value for money. The high preservative qualities ensure maximum protection for outside rough-cut timbers.
In July 2003, it became an offence for the general public to purchase and apply Coal Tar Creosote. However, the product is still available for sale to tradespeople, such as the agricultural community, builders, etc., who are still able to purchase Coal Tar Creosote, providing they do not resell to the general householder.
Application: For use only as a wood preservative in industrial installations or for professional treatment only. Not for use on internal timbers of residential properties.
Coverage: Approximately 1 Litre per 8 – 10 square metres depending upon the texture and porosity of the timber to be treated.
